About the event
This year’s Heritage Open Day at Alconbury Weald brings something for all ages, with a full programme celebrating the site’s rich history running alongside a vibrant Community Fun Day filled with food, entertainment and family activities.
Visitors can enjoy a rare chance to step into the past, with pre‑booked guided tours of the Avionics Building the Cold War bunker that once gathered intelligence from TR1 reconnaissance aircraft. Over at The Club, drop‑in displays and hands‑on activities will reveal how some of Alconbury Weald’s earliest residents lived during the Iron Age and Roman periods, offering a fascinating look at the stories beneath our feet.
